"The wrestler" by Darren Aronofsky

As people who are, each director has a kind of tastes, could not be otherwise. Sometimes they insist on going against nature for a while and return to the same starting point or specifically, do what they really like, I guess this may define Aronofsky. When it comes to making a certain type of film, I think this gentleman has just got right, with stories not so lucid or too glamourous, it's rather the opposite way. What I mean is that the director portrays the world as few of the misery of those who have suffered a setback in life, those who lived through better times and of course, they got profit from it, but forgot that nothing is eternal and never took into account the future. They just dedicated themselves to live present time and this bring about consequences that they shall pay both economically and on a personal level, this breed came from unless are who receive better treatment in Aronofsky's films.
We are faced with a story of contrasts, situations that you may have in life and, in fact, the one we see on screen could be extrapolated to any area of our life, people whom the world has just punishing them, and feel perfectly in their environment. In the case of our hero Randy "The Ram" (Mickey Rourke), the wrestling world that gives him everything that is good in his life but, when he comes out in the ring is worth almost nothing, however much effort to bring change and somehow try to recover lost time.
One of the support that Rourke's best interpretation finds is the character of Cassidy (Marisa Tomei) , a stripper in which the life has left its mark and lived better times. Resigned to what he does because he has no other option to raise his son, once again we face the typical duality in which a character lives two lives at once and completely contradicting each other, angel by day, devil by night. The script does not require a deep study, because if you scratch too run,we have the danger of creating a big hole. We do not have a story for anything new, whether it is true that we have been interested in some aspects of the "backshop" that exists in the world of wrestling. Something we could imagine, but in different scenes is reflected perfectly the decrepitude to which a human being can get. Therefore, I assure that with this little thing and the great performance of Rourke, not that of Tomei's, I save the furniture and some more.
